Anyone have any info on Penrose Park CP at Silverton please?
We have stayed at Penrose Park Silverton a few times, the last being around 3 years ago.
We certainly prefer it to the crowded parks in Broken Hill, however apparently it is a popular place during School and Public Holidays..
It is not a Caravan Park with defined sites, water and sullage points, grass etc etc. From memory we paid something like $18 for two adults for a non-powered spot. I think power was a further $5 per night and there were not that many power points (some were only 10amp outlets) around the place.
It is just a large outback bush area with a number of old besser brick toilet blocks throughout the area. There is a large newer shower/laundry block near the reception area. You basically just find a quiet/isolated spot to your liking, either in the bush or in the more open areas, and set up camp.
It is a short walk into Silverton to wander around the town and you must have a beer at the Pub. Daydream mine is a must visit as is seeing sunset over the Mundi Mundi plains.

I didn't stay there, but took a drive throught he caravan park, if you like a bush setting not as expensive as in town it would be very nice.
I have only had good reports about it, wish I had stayed there, maybe another time.

The Broken Hill locals we have met are recommending it over BH parks.
