Just replaced my laptop keyboard. Took all of about 3 minutes. Checked out a vidio of how and thought I would flip the top panel off to have a look in veiw of doing the job tomorrow. Found the 2 screws, turned the lappy off, remove screws, flip out keyboard, remove ribbon cable and the reverse previous. Most time was spent on the ribbon cable. Wish I had done it months ago now. Dont have to push the H key 50 times to get an H or the D key 25 times to get a D, but rest asured it donsnt speed up typing or improve spelling and grammer
cheers

Great job done blaze. Where did you get the keyboard from and an idea of the price would be good, thanks.

Good on you for doing it, it's pushing boundaries for most of us, but how rewarding when it works well.

Not sure if this is relevant, but I will give it a go and see if anyone can offer some advice.
For Christmas last year, my son gave me a new bluetooth keyboard to use with my iad2. It was fine at first, but now it won't charge up properly. The orange light comes on to signify that it is charging, but shortly afterwards, the light goes out and nothing happens. The most charge I have gotten out of it lately is just one hour when it should be lasting up to a week depending on how much it is used. I can't take it back to the place it was bought from as it has since closed down.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong and how to rectify it please?
it does depent on your make & model no but there were some for about $28.00

try contacting the maker, sounds like it needs a new battery, may still be covered by warrenty

It does sound like a battery problem. Do make sure it is being charged correctly as well.

I had an el chepo wireless mouse & keyboard from Kmart. Bloody thing required the drivers to be reloaded EVERY time I turned it on. Took the laptop back to Kmart & tried ALL the keyboards they had in the shop with the same result.
Got my money back ( good on them) & went to trickie dickie for a Logitech one for around $40 ... works well & feels good too.
Sent a product defect complaint to Kmart but no response!

I have used Logitech gear for years now and never had a breakdown, everything they make is quality, ok so you pay a little more but well worth it.

Just read the original post more carefully & realised that it was about the keyboard integral to the laptop & not the external one I had eroneously thought.
Oooops ... Sorry
