Cameron Corner has just been nominated for heritage listing (along with Haddon and Poeppel Corners). Do you think heritage listing there would be a good thing?

What difference would it make??? It still sits on the corner of 3 states, they still sell great burgers, its still REALLY isolated, the dingo fence is still there... hope it doesnt change.

NO! NOT A GOOD THING > Then wait for the fees to be applied just to go & have a look.
Along with the rules & regulations, do's & dont's. No changes can be done to structure or further improvements.
Glad we have been to a lot of these places before the charges kicked in.

I've never been there, but heard about it from my sister and bil and seen photos. My thought was...why? What's the point?

A guy called Sandy Nall started the whole Cameron Corner thing in the very late eighties/early nineties. He and I served in the Army together. Sandy would be stunned and amazed at how the whole concept has grown. I was fortunate enough to travel through there in '92 and share a "few" cold lemonades with Sandy. Unfortunately Sandy passed away quite a few years back.
I feel he wouldn't be in favour of a heritage listing. His idea was a simple stopover for people to have a break.
Cheers and safe travels

I was having a bit of vehicle trouble in Broken Hill as was fiddling with the vehicle in a shopping centre carpark, when this bloke and his wife parked near me came over and he helped me out. Turned out they had a farm at Cameron's Corner and had come into BH for supplies.
Can't remember their names but I do remember their kindness
