Hi everyone, I was surfing this afternoon as one does when I came across a website called outbackcrossing.com.au and found it very interesting.
It covers 4wd vehicles, what to look for, pro's and cons, touring, camping........all very informative and instructive.
Hope you find something of interest; yep, even a section on midges!
Cheers

Hi Duh and thanks for supplying the correct link to site.
I have managed to spend a few hours reading some good articles on all sorts of subjects including some good advice on freecamping. The author has a nice "free"spirit and attitude to authority that I like.
cheers,

Ditto, great site and have also added it to my bookmarks, thanks. As we are still looking for a tug the Nissan and Landcruiser comparisons were great reading for hubby.
Another interesting link thanks ( http://outbackcrossing.com.au/ )
