This is my first post to this forum. We are heading off February next year from Melbourne to Perth and then up the west coast to Darwin. We should be in Darwin around August.
We have just found out that a niece of ours is transferring to Maningrida to work. We are thining of making the trip from Darwin to Maningrida. Aware that this is quite some distance away.
Appreciate comments as to any information with regard to the condition of the road from Darwin. We are driving a Mitsubishi Pajero and towing a 18ft Ian Grant Tourer MKIII on road caravan. Not too concerned if we have to store the caravan in Darwin.
Look forward to all comments.
Regards

The last time I was in that area the road from Cahill,s crossing to Maningrida was dirt and coragations, but that late in the season it might have been graded. I would ring Maningrida or Obiri shop and ask what the road is like. Also, you need a permit to cross aboriginal land. Bill
