We are in ceduna at the moment. The motorhome is a Jayco and its a month old. The grey water tank is not emptying. its not the gauge the tank is definitely full but I am lucky to get 10 liters out if I open the valve. I had a shower yesterday and the water would not drain so its that tank for sure. The water is leaking out of the side of the van opposite to the release valve and i am very worried tthat it is contaminating the fresh water tank.
Can anyone help? Any ideas on what I can do

To be honest CMan I would be taking it back to Jayco since it is only a month old or ringing them and telling them the problem they may be able to help you over the phone. It should be covered by warranty either way though.
Good luck with it and please let us know what happens ok?

Is there an elbow in the drain pipe under the shower under the van. It can be dismantled to clear any obstructions like hair etc.The elbow is there to stop any smells coming back up the pipe from said tank. Also does the kitchen sink drain away okey, or does that also overflow. If that is okey, then it's a blockage in the shower drain.

I would contact Jayco they have a good name for after sale service I have been told by people on the road any Jayco dealer will help you , have you empty before or is this the first time, More likely to be the outlet valve than anything else

First... call Jayco , either the nearest dealer (which will be in the little owners book they give you) or the dealer where you bought it. We have a Jayco and have found they are quite helpful when you are on the road, they might suggest something you can do yourself, or a nearby service place. If you do anything to it yourself, other than cleaning it out, check that you wont void the warranty. My sympathy, you must be so upset, this just isnt good enough, for a new motorhome on which you spenty your hard-earned!

Kiwi-as the problem is getting the waste out of the tank not into the tank , So that might be why CMan might want to undo the S Bend under the shower

If you are only getting a few litres out of the tank at a time it sounds like the breather is blocked! No air getting in so it is setting up a vacuum maybe just a thought

I have a Jayco Conquest......it has two grey tanks, although Jayco only told me about one of them. The other is unmetered and is on the side directly under the shower area. It has a valve on it but under the van where its hard to get to. The other grey tank is metered and shows when its full and have an easy to access valve on the passenger side, but it ony deals with the Kitchen waste water. We too found that when we emptied it, it would only be a couple of litres and drove around with the other grey water tank full for a few weeks. Wish Jayco had have told us about it, but their after sales service is "when you pay for it, we don;t want to know you".
I have since had a valve fitted closer to the side of the van and the second grey tank wired to a spare fresh water tank meter....but the valve that was fitted is still not done properly so am looking for a proper valve I can use to fix the problem. Bought this motorhome New in Perth, cost a fortune and would have thought I'd get better value and service for the money I spent. Jayco are just not interested in after sales service. I would never buy from Jayco ever again.
But enough of my problems, look for the second grey tank you were never told about, and let the water out.....hope that helps.
