I have said previously - "I have never minded sitting behind anybody" , when I was Truck driving .
As long as you stayed on 70 or 80 , whatever speed you wanted to do . I think everybody gets th
sh*ts about th "fluctuators"(yeh,spelt That right) , on 65 then 80 , back to 70 . Then , when you
try to overtake em , they speed up . In a semi , you just don't pick th speed up that quick , so you
don't get to overtake . Then one get's more furious .
I have been saying , "week-end warriors" only want dual lanes so they can get in th vee hikle on
Fri arvo , look at th point on th map , here we come . Target 650k = 6 & a half hrs drive .
Does not consider having worked All week = tired , fights th peak hour traffic for 2 + hrs = more
tired , then wants to get to beach-house , does Not enjoy th Journey .
to th bloke who wrote that , no mate it don't sh*t me off .
Mate I have reached this age . Are you gunna grow as old as moi

Agree with you totally re the speeders up but the right lane hoggers do it for me.
I was heading north just south of Mryborough in Qld with around eight cars following an old Coaster doing around eighty-- ninety all the way from Gympie.OK so a slow journey.
Big problem with the Coaster it went directly to the right lane at every passing place, same speed and so did the rest of them.It left the left lane totally clear.
I was so P*****d I just upped to 100 and took the lot on the left and was well past when the passing lane finished.
I know I shouldn't have passed on the left, however I had a clear run to Gin -Gin with not much traffic after.

Yes, I read that front page story. Is anyone going to email the guy and give him a piece of your mind. I thought he was rather rude quite frankly.

I think this was in the Townsville paper a while ago (could have been Cairns - ) but anyway - he got lots of flack from a heap of people for this article. As Zoomtopz says - "weekend warrior" - 650k in six and half hours - no allowance for fueling, roadworks, pee stops, and, if you have kids - food and drink stops. Travelling should be enjoyable from go to whoa - take time to smell the roses along the way, isn't that what it is all about - 650k in one day - do not remember ever doing that distance in one day at all.

I used to do that in my car Jules. Only because I was coming up to see the grandkids, would drive straight up the Newell and couldn't afford the motel accommodation on the way. So 3 days and 2 nights, stay for 6 weeks then head back down again. But at no time did I let the other traffic annoy me.

But then Marj - we were all younger once, weren't we? Job I had once used to drive 400 k per day - from a depot to do deliveries, back to depot and out again - 3 times a day - last one was to home - get up next day, do it all over again - lots of k's in those days! Nowadays, have been known to move just 7k from one free camp to another - don't let other drivers worry us either - just mosey along on cruise control, if they want to pass, move over, let em go - usually see them in a servo fuelling up not far up the road - makes you laugh!

That idiot Julian is only jealous, he sees us taking our time, enjoying our life in retirement and he has to go to work for a living. Poor sod. We were young once, cant remember being quite such a smart-ar$e though!

Yes Gerty you are spot on but when we were you I hope we had more respect , I can still do those speeds but chose to take life a bit slower but if I feel I could be causing a bottle neck I speed up till I can pull over and let the over do there own thing so I can do my own thing when it safe to do so , One word Respectfor one an other
