Hmm, been home for about three months - must be time to think about heading off again. I'm getting too engrossed in my craft room, so thought I might show you a couple of things I have been making. That's if I can remember how to add the photos here. Ah, ha, found my little bit of paper that tells me how!
Photo #1 - a knitted clown I made for our grandson
Photo #2 - a mini quilt stand and quilts I made for a girlfriend for her 60th birthday next week
Photo #3 - a couple of State of Origin aprons for 'the boys'
Photo #4 - I made a couple of fabric balls, and you insert a balloon and blow up (and let down) - great for travelling as they don't take up a lot of room and are soft for littlies.
Love them all Pejay, especially the clown, he's gorgeous.
Rosie, what do you put inside the squidgies, to hold them down. Would it be rice?

the pattern says bean bag beans, but rice or dry peas will work, Marj.

Capricorn who cares on whether it is outstanding as long as you love it then that is all that matters in my opinion. My hubby is my worst critic and man is he harsh lol. When I say to him do you have to be so brutal he says well you asked for my opinion . I would love to see your quilt when you are finished as I adore handmade quilts.

Oh wow!! What have I started?? They all sound great - maybe we should ask Cindy to start up a craft section for us to swap pattern etc. I too love the Squidgies Rosie. And Michelle, I love making cards too, have had that on hold for a while but hope to get back into it soon. I made the clown from an all-in-one pattern for a trauma bear and adjusted it to create the clown (sort of) still trying to decipher my hyrogliphics when I scribbled down the changes to the pattern I had made. And the aprons I made using a couple of State og Origin 'car flags'.

That would be a fabulous idea June to have a craft section. I do knit, crochet, and of course sew. I scrapbook as well lol. I do heaps of different things. I got a new sewing machine for mothers day last year which will also be coming on the road with us, so I can get back into making my own clothes again and make clothes for my four grandbabies. It's too hot in the summer months for me to knit or crochet but I will take it up in the winter months for sure. My mainstay is papercraft, I have a craftroom full of supplies lol.

you sound like one busy lady Michelle, love to hear about other peoples craft work. A good idea to take the sewing machine with you when you start the travels. About a decade ago we travelled continuously for two years...told hubby the only way I would agree to the trip is if I could take the sewing machine with me, met a lovely lady in nth qld who not only had her sewing machine for the big trip but a smocking machine as well. I got back home with two machines.....couldn't help myself, bought an updated model while travelling, yes my lovely hubby does put up with a lot! cheers capricorn
ps will post photos of the cream quilt(has lots of embroidery on it) when i make a bit more progress on it.

Thganks Rosie. I love Jean Greenhowe designs. I'm currently knitting another Nativity set for the second family of grandchildren. I gave the the first set last year - thought I'd get the second one done too, but 'in my dreams'. It took so long to knit all the different characters. But it did look good when finished.

Quick update - received a phone call tonight from my girlfriend in Sydney (the birthday girl) and she was absolutely rapt in her 'unique gift' (the mini quilts and stand) and the fact that it was stitched with love just added to it being special! Hmm, makes me feel good that something i have made has been really appreciated.

I'm spending the afternoon watching football and knitting. Current project if for the upcoming school fete.
They are "Squidgies"
You can use them as decoration, as paper weights or to practice juggling.
