Oh, that is so sad Lynette? What is wrong with people these days? There are some crazies out there. When it happens in our own group on here, it makes us a bit more suspicious of everyone and who we can trust. I feel for you, it happens too often, these b.........s have no idea how they hurt the recipient.
It still pays to be careful even with people we think we know.

Gidday, Just a little further info ?? it is known that ''hackers'' do at times hack into someones Mobile, then send abusive texts or messages to people that are listed in the hacked phones directory, ??? and the phone owner has no idea ??? May not be this way in your situation, But thought i would let you know it Can and Does happen,

Not a TXT but I noticed a post elsewhere on this site someone had a go at Member a few days ago and it was really nasty stuff, I really felt for the Member, funny thing though I haven't seen the waste of space back on since.

Ok my true friends, I have worked out what is going on. This lunatic has taken upon its self to implode their anger towards howard and I because we did not turn up at a get together. Circumstances beyond our control made it impossible to attend. This person has likened the event to a royal wedding. Unbelievable. But to text us late at night, (Howard is recovering from bowel cancer still) and send a text that was threatening, accusing us of Fraud ???? contacting Police??? and calling us thieves is completely and utterly mental, I will be informing our Webmaster and hopefully some action will be taken. By the way sending texts of this nature is a criminal offence, and yes action will be taken.

Lynette sounds like this loser has a bolt loose perhaps?? I really don't understand why this person took it upon themselves to text you just because you didn't turn up to a get together!!!! Geez must remember never to say I am coming to something and then not go just in case hehehe. Seriously though Lynette it is in very poor taste in my opinion. Glad you are taking this further and it is an offence under the Telecommunications act so the person can be charged.

Thanks everyone. I have received a PM about this issue. I really appreciate it when people contact me directly if they have a concern about anything that is happening on the forum or the behaviour of any members of it. I will have a look at the problem and take what I think to be the appropriate action, at least in terms of this forum. Obviously, I have no control or real influence on what happens outside it. I am delighted that this forum has helped so many members to form new friendships and to meet up with fellow travellers. However, this issue is a reminder to us all that the normal rules of commonsense and judgement do come into play. Thankfully, we are blessed with an overwhelmingly genuine and friendly membership here and issues such as this one – as far as I am aware – have been mercifully rare. Nonetheless, it is very important that members only give out personal details to people they trust. I will close this thread now as I see no purpose in continuing to air speculation about who might have said what etc, and I fear it could make the situation worse. As I said, I will take what I consider to be the appropriate action as far as I am able. If anyone has any concerns about any aspect of the forum or its members, please PM me in the first instance. I cannot help if I do not know about it.
