Just had a wheel alignment and safety check done on the Winnie for my trip down south and they have found the front brakes need major work. Can't even get anybody in town to look at them till next week and I was supposed to leave on Friday. Don't know if I will be able to get down there in time for the safari now as I don't know when or if I can get the work done. Really peed off at the moment, it just seems to be one thing after another. It has to be fixed, I can't take it with dodgy brakes so it's going to be a case of a very rushed trip down there or cancel the whole darn thing.
Not Very Cheery!

What a shame. Can you find someone on the way down to have a look and get the work done? Good luck, I hope you find a way around this.

Tell them you have a commitment and you'd be really grateful if they could do the work for you. As I'm sure you would be.
I had to have the thermostat replaced in Griffith and they could see I was a worker on a mission, but they were very helpful and friendly at Dredge Machinery. I've listed them in the "Recommendations" for their service and the price.

As there appears to be no alternative, my son and his Dad are now pulling the brakes to bits themselves. Apparently some bits have to be machined, so if they can get all the bits off tonight, my son, who is a fitter and turner will machine them at work tomorrow. I feel really bad, they have both been working all day and are now going to be working most of the night.
Cheers!

Hi Chris. If you do have to start a day or so later, can't you catch up with the Safari somewhere along the track ?
Cheers,
Sheba.

That's wonderful of them. Don't feel guilty, they're probably loving being able to do this for you.

Yes I could probably do that Sheba, I have the itinerary so I know where they will be. I was so looking forward to this trip and it just seems nothing is going right at the moment. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks jetj, they are not complaining, just getting on with it. I am very fortunate to have them.
Cheers!

Take the offers in the manner I'm sure they are intended. You're lucky you have someone in the wings with those skills to assist. Buy them something nice for their efforts. It's also wonderful you see it that way, and are concerned they are working beyond the call of duty. These gestures can't be measured. Have a safe trip.

She'll be right mate!! still have time to get brakes done - better safe than sorry - keep those guys lubricated with food and drink, they will work hard for you - nice apple tea cake would be a good incentive!!!! (for us anyway, it would)

Looks like a bad case of "Bummer" Chris. Not happy Jan.
Catching up with the safari sounds a good idea Chris, that way you won't miss out altogether.
I will keep everything crossed for you down this end.
