Gday...
I travel full-time - and try to stay with the sun and warmth. So it is "usually" up north in winter and slowly head south for summer.
Having said that, not all my plans reach fruition. At the moment I am in Normanton - 38 to 39degC each day - and will be heading toward Inisifail eventually. The wet season soon will determine which way, and where, I travel.
Also, southern summers can be just as bad, so I just dress according to the weather - naked if hot (well, not actually ) and lotz of layers if chilly.
I take it as I find it .... it sure is better than bein' dead

Basically it uses http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/ca_qld_names.shtml to find the average temperature of a town in any given month and use that information to map out my latitudes for that month allowing travel between Victoria in the summer and up to Cairns in the winter whilst maintaining an average temperature of 26 degrees.
Sounds good in theory and it has been working for the past couple of months.

We spent last Summer school holidays in Armidale (New England Highlands) the previous two years in Albany, southern WA. Armidale was a beautiful town, but FREEZING - never again. The trick when you live on the road is to try and find somewhere that isn't a family holiday destination.

We're in Victoria now and will wander around here until new year , then head up to Tamworth for the Country Music
Festival .
It gets hot down here in summer , but nowhere near the humidity of the coast north of Coffs Harbour .
The heat in western Qld. is fierce in summer too .
Agree with the statement about families and their dear little ankle biters too .

DON,T spend your summers in Nth QLD. Its hot, humid and it rains like you would never believe. After 35 years here,NQ, I try to go to the south coast of NSW, and stay at some friends property at Mystery bay, near Narooma. If you want to get cooler, go up to the mountains.Also, the fishing is good. Bill

We will spend this summer in Tasmania - so will not have to lilve with the humidity - can live with heat, but humidity is draining - not pleasant at all!!!

Now, Nicholstones, that's not a nice description of Melbourne's weather - you only have to remember to take your swimmers, a jumper and umbrella when you go out!

We're moving to the coast, instead of visiting there like we used to. I have a yen to see the Kimberley in the Wet, would love to see the Boabs in flower, its still on our bucket list. We'd use the train and planes rather than drive so far in that season.

we will be in tamworth again this year we always park in the cmca section it cost a a extra 2.00 a nite but we feel more secure there and they allow generators to 8pm at nite found parking on other side there was generators going all nite and a lot of intoxacted people wandering around walking distance to town centre and showers very close we pay the 2.00 for a shower rather than use our motorhome all the time may be will see you there is there many gn going this year we travel this country in a custom coach 11mtrs towing a car and boat and love it we are going to stay around the nsw coast niov and dec then head closer to tamworth in jan look out for us silver bus the name silver bullet on it cheer wayne and cherylle

John (yeoeleven) you have to be a bit careful about climate averages. Melbourne has an average max of 26 (well, 25.9) in January, which means it might be 18 degrees or 42!

We travel full time as well and just use parks that have a pool for us and some shade. We have two air cons as well which helps, but as long as i have a pool im happy.

We also avoid ankle bitters like the plague.
