We-e-ell theres good special prices on things if you actually want them, but its so easy to get carried away and spend too much. If you've done your homework and have decided on an item, its a good place to shop. Good places just to browse for ideas too...

Hi Folks, we plan to be there o Saturday, I would love to be there on Friday, but we both still need to work unfortunately.
When I get there I will be continuing my research around what type of snail house we want, and also what type we are likely to be able to afford. The balance between size, quality, mobility, independence, storage, ease of use, etc.
When I have caravan-ed in the past, I remember we spent most of our time living outside, and basically retreated indoors to sleep. However I suspect this would be different if we were living on the road, where we may need more of the creature comforts we have learned to take for granted.
We still have a lot to work out, but I know we both want to make it happen now.

I'm going on Friday, probably in the afternoon sometime. Morning parking is usually abysmal. Doug if you do decide to come up, give me a ring.

Hello All
To all you GNs going the Melbourne Camping Show, may I suggest you get there early. I was there today at 1020hr and the carparks were more than half full. There was a very good crowd. I was speaking to a couple of fellows I know and they had not had an order for any vans by 1230hr.
One fellow said that people seem to be keeping the money in their pockets. A couple of manufacturers were not happy with the site allocation. Especially the camper trailer and tent fellows.
Have a good day.

Oh well, maybe next year as I can't make it after all as it turns out. Too much to do at home before I head off out into the playground.
I will give you a call next time I'm up that way Helen.

I've enjoyed the first two days of the show.
Thursday I put aside for negotiating caravan deals for a two forum members. Happy to report that I was able to save one couple $3.6K and another a whopping $7.3K.
Today was a bit of 'My Time' to roam the show and catch up with old friends ion various stands and take some time to look at some new entrants into the market an also reaquaint myseld with some of the older established brands. Nice to report that the general standard has shown an improvement in quality, but unfortunately not in all cases, with a small number showing a decline. Sales on the whole are pretty slow, so the astute buyer should be able to get a bit off the advertised prices and or' get a few extras thrown in.
