Hi All,
Had a call from my son who lives in NSW ( wife is due to have a baby)to say that their doctor has requested that everyone that will come in contact with the new baby needs to have a whooping cough injection. Of course we are more than happy to do this. Has other grandparents had to do the same.
Whooping cough must be out there in a big way.

Gollymolly, this topic was on the forum a while back in "Health And Wellbeing".
Several GN's have been immunised, myself included. Whooping cough is such a cruel thing that vaccination is a wise step for all grandparents to take.
BTW...congratulations. Will this be your first grandchild?

Hi gollymolly, We went and got our injection just before our Grandson was born in May. Doc said it wasn't really necesseary though as we were not living in same house as baby. However did it just to be on safeside. Glad we did. Coz, now the Government is not subsidising it and now you have to pay. Would still do it anyway. Apparently whooping cough is running rampant again. Too many people not getting kids immunised.
