Hi all
New here and dreaming of the nomad lifestyle.
Unfortunately haven't won lotto yet so will have to work intermittently as we go.
I am a paediatric ICU nurse and my partner is sales rep with 23yrs experience in hospitality.
Hoping to do some casual nursing and odd jobs for him.
Anyone done this? Share your thoughts... Ta

I have always found both in the UK and latterly here in Oz,if you want to find work you will.
I do know a friend who has been nursing for quite a few years who takes up work wherever she is in some nursing capacity or other.
I would expect your partner would find work in hospitality as well.
Take the plunge and try it. I am sure it will work out for you both and if you don't try it will always be an unanswered question.
Good luck and hope everything falls into place for you both.
Regards
Trevor

We are doing that as I type, working and travelling, or it just wouldn't happen, plenty of work out there if you want it though I have to say it is different to just travelling as we did for 6 months no working.........not quite as much fun as that but still better than not, still hoping for lotto myself

Vicki and Bryan welcome to the forum, as you are travelling you will find heaps of opportunities for a bit of casual work especially if you are prepared to do a variety of different jobs there are a number of sites that offer casual work and if you are staying in caravan parks its always worth asking the park managers as they may have some casual work and they often know of other casual work in the local area.

Hi Vicky/Brian, My wife and I have been travelling/working for the past 6 years full time. You will always find work (If you want it). Have met many people doing the same thing. As a nurse you will be inundated with work same goes for hospitality. Check out the BANTACS web page re working on a ABN or as an itinerate worker. There many great benefits available. Download the many info sheets they supply free of charge. They will help you to keep excellent records . If done properly you can claim your whole trip as a tax deduction. I have been doing this for several years. You can contact Julia, and she will give you great info. I also use Bantacs as my accountant. $150 for ABN tax return last August. Pretty good value.
