Today I met Rosie, of Rip & Rosie, Pam and Judy, aka Barina at the RSL in Deniliquin. As seems to be the norm when we meet other GN's, we got along really well. Of course sis & bil were with me, and they were happy to meet and chat too. It's a pity we didn't have more time, but I'm sure we'll meet again somewhere 'out there'!
So we are now at Echuca, and heaven forbid, we're in a CP! The camp we had planed to stop at didn't llok too good, and it was getting late in the day, so we came in here. $31.50 with seniors or pensioner discount. Bit rich, but can't be helped. At least I have proper power tonight and I can shower to my hearts content.

CPs in Echuca are not cheap Beth. I would stand under the shower for an hour and use up all their hot water. lol Great to see you have caught up with Rip and Rosie, Pam and Judy. I have met Pam and Judy, but not Rip and Rosie. Say hello to what I still consider to be my hometown.

Yes, we figured they'd all be exxy. Therefore we'll only stay one night. Have a look around tomorrow, hopefully have a bit of a cruise on a paddlewheeler, then go on to Greens Lake in the arvo.
We'll probably only have one night at Greens Lake, because we want to get along. Need a couple of days in Bendigo, meeting rellies.

We had such a good time! Spent the morning doing the Genealogy muster thing, and lunch time with god food, good chat and nice people. What a shame the day was too short! Pam, Barina (Judy), Beth and her sister and bil, what a nice crew, although I think Judy's daughter worried she was dropping her mum off to meet possible axe murderers. So here we sit, right on the river, hundreds of birds flocking to nests across the way, beautiful river gums, and tomorrow to get to know more of this wonderful area. Rosie

Hi Beth, Echuca is a nice little town, and a ride in a paddlesteamer is well worth the price. When we went there a couple of years ago we stayed at Tongala, about 20k out of town $20. per night. and day tripped from there. Enjoying following your trip. Have fun and stay safe.

We sure did, Beth.
It was like a group of old friends (including you sister and bil) except, as we said, we weren't used to talking to faces . So funny.
How much fun would it be to have had more time!
We will hopefully have some more time with Judy and Pam today.
Rip and I are intending to do more genealogy today.....off to the cemetery, seems there is a tour!

Yes Doug, finally reached the border. Ken had actually contacted me, but I didn't get to see them because we didn't really have much time in Echuca. I met them in Qld earlier in the year.

That did go through my mind, but I didn't get up until 8.45, so I thought I'd better get a wriggle on.

If I had a heater with me, I would have. I've put the top down tonight so that'll be a bit warmer.

CP's in Echuca or Moama have always been expensive - all year round. but the ones in Townsville are mostly around $36 - $38 - so not too bad at $31.50. Enjoy yourself Beth.
