Thinking of calling in to Maldon for a spot of family history and cemetery hunting. However, there seems not any/many places to stay. Badgers gives the only CP a thumbs down.
Any suggestions?

Gday...
Laanecoorie is about 25km NW of Maldon - still pretty much in the heart of the Golden Triangle.
I know the area, but have not stopped at this park. Seems like a good place.

Hi Rosie, We stayed at Dunolly recently. It's $26 per night, stay a week and you pay for 6. A bit run down but very, very friendly. It's about 25-30 K from Maldon. Nice friendly town too. Brenda.

The historical trains run on Wednesday and Sunday if you want to enjoy some old memories. Pulled by steam power main line locos.
Lovely little town with the 1940's feel and they have a fantastic JUNK shop at the top end. best for the guys who love tools etc as they sell many of the old tools for a good price.
Enjoy your stay.
I will be there in about a month for my steam fix.
Regards Brian
