What I hear is that she going to open somewhere here in Townsville and allow caravan/ motor homes and the only place I can think is the dam area up the road from where I live.which was planed years ago.

I heard the Townsville Council were thinking of buying out the houses around you and turning that into 'Alternative Camping' Greg. If they do make sure they put up a sign saying "NO WOMBATS"

I read the Mayor report in the paper which she said there would be no free camping in the Townsville city area then supply the extisting camp , I do believe the council could not consider free camping in built up areas they just don't work . The Pine River council north of Brisbane had to close a free camp for safty reasons Wyllie Park 1 klm. south of Petrie

Yeah guess your right brickies false alarm no camping in Townsville yet if they put a carry taker
At the dam and charge a small fee they could cover the area up keep as they have a waste dump point there
