We currently own a Supreme 2060 and our Tow vehicle is a Disco 3. We are thinking about changing our rig to a Iveco with a slide on so that we may tow the boat and have the convenience of dropping of the slide on and have a vehicle to launch the boat. I was wondering does any body have this type of rig, if you do , what don't you like about , What worries me is how hard is it to back under a slide on and line it up for securing. I would appreciate some feed back from fellow nomads who have owned a slide on, what did you like or dislike.
Cheers
Sandra

I have a slide on, all be it an old freeway. The worst part is loading and unloading the camper. Perhaps the newer ones are easier, but I would like to see it done before I buy. A towball on the FRONT of the vehicle makes it easier to lauch a boat.Bill

Hi Sandra, depends on how big a boat you want to tow. I carry a 12 foot tinny on a trailer in the back of my truck which is an Isuzu NPR200, and tow my van, Rod

Welcome Sandra from me, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I don't know much if anything about slide-on's so will leave that to others on here.

I carry a tinnie on the roof of the Rodeo and tow a small van. For the big trip of the year, three-4 months spent in one place, this is fine only one set up and one pack up. We also have a portable trailer, approx 30 minutes assembly required. For shorter trips, usually 6 days to two weeks, we tend to go to places where we can put the boat in the water and leave it, and not bother about the trailer.
if i had the money id go for something like this
they only show driving out , but i guess it would take a little while to get used to it..
there are these too, http://www.truckcampersaustralia.com.au/
must be others who have had experience?
