that was my day today after only 4 hrs sleep. Went up to look at and make final arrangements for a postition I applied for. Crossed the T and dotted the I so to speak, found a park to set up in. Plan for 12 months to 2 years stay. Loved the place the moment I got off the plane

that was a busy day blaze, have you been to Broome b4?
Broome is a rip off place IMHO, BUT if you have never been there then it is a place to be looked at, you will need some extra tourist $$$$, we have been there twice and that's enough for us, much prefer inland spots where I can dig a lot of holes without the council kicking me out of town.

to be perfectly honest I dont want to go as a tourist, I wannt to be as local as I can get for a few years. Want to do things like find that little water fall out behind the black stump that only the locals know of, that little barra spot in the creek over yonder, the spot near cable beach the locals have a beer on friday night after work. For the tourist , after my first trip yesterday I dont know why tourist would go there, good marketing I suppose. cheers blaze

We first went to Broome in 1980. Just had our swags in the back of a 4WD. We threw them down on the sand at Cable Beach. No one elsw was there. No tourist resort. Heaven! What a shock when we went back next time.

Anne Coombs and Susan Varga, two writers, spent a year in Broome observing and trying to fit into the local scene. The result was a fascinating book - "Broome Time". If you can get hold of a copy, you might find it interesting reading.
