My leg seems OK with no problems so I must have cleaned it ok. I decided to not cover it and just let the air get to it. I don't care what it looks like now.
Just in case anyone is wondering what the heck that means I had a, well, I'll put it down to a seniors, no a stupid moment and fell of my 3 step step ladder while putting up the TV antenna. I have since relocated it to a safer spot.

Doug, my Dr was telling me that many of his male patients come to him because of ladder accidents (that was the last time I saw him about falling off one, still on meds for the pain). He told me that us "older blokes" should keep off them

Hi Vic,
I had the antenna rigged up above the sink window on the peak but also have a expendable pole that mounts to the A frame with a bracket and use guy ropes to keep it steady so that will get used from now on.
The only time I need to actually get on the steps now is to actually attach the awning to the peak on the door side, there is a clip up there it needs to be done so I will get the thinking cap on and see if I can come up with a better idea so I can eliminate the ladder all together. I don't think I can do the clip bit before I raise the sides up.
I am not even going to tell my daughters.
How did you go with this sort of thing when you had your Avan Camper mate??

Some lovely people with an Avan, reading the forum asked me to post the following for you. Hope it helps.
If you are chatting with him tell him that the awning can be put on with the top down. You slide it through, do up the clip and the velcro, attach the second part if you want to, although it can be attached with the top up, but I do it with the top down, and then you raise the roof. Just slip under the awning and raise the roof as per normal. No need for ladders at all. Very dangerous things at times. We've done it this way on both sportliner and cruiseliner and is recommended way.

We have a low tow and have had 2 different awnings and have always found that attaching awning before raising is much much easier than raised, We have been advise that any awning can be attached before raising wether it be a Avan or lowtow etc. Don't use your ladder again. Take care
