I have camps 4 and it works for me , So camps 3 would still have the basic but there could be some entries that no longer apply and some new entries that is not in camp 3

You can go online and update - the details are in the book. But if you are going to get a new one, wait till early next year - Camps 7 is on the way!!

I doubt very much that the updates would go back as far as the 3rd edition, don't know about the 4th. Later editions have the full Hema Road Atlas included which is very useful, not sure about Camps 3 but I recall an earlier edition that only had minimal map information.

Hi Hans.
You good still use the your old book, if you are like us you will have references and markings you dont want to loose try the attached site and go to updates and you can print of all the revised camp sites and dump points for the stste you are travelling in.
I went to Camps Australia -Update, it says " Camps Australia Wide provide this free update service for each edition of Camps Australia Wide for a period of 4 years from its publication date.",
mine was published in 2005. I will give it one more go.

Time to put your hand in your pocket and update. Lots of new sites have been added since Editiion 3 with quite a few that are in #3 being scrubbed. The saving on 2 free nights will cover the cost. New editions are usually available in late February each 2 years with Edition 7 due in 2013. Cheers, Ozjohn.

Hi All, we have the Camps 6 with camp snaps (pictures) which gives you a bit better idea of what the camp ground looks like. We have found like what other forum members stated that some are no longer available and also some of the numbers have changed, we also brought the POI download for our Garmin nav system which is fantastic as it tells you how far each site is from your present location and it will navigate you to, it if you select it.
Enjoy Australia

I find the best way to update from online is to print the updates off, a lot easier to do that way and you can do it at your liesure.
I was pushed for time once while travelling so just put the printed amendments in the book so I could still refer to them and amended it when I had the time.
Please note that even with a new edition (eg; Camps 7 when it comes out in 2013) by the time it hits the shelf there will be new amendments so you will need to go online and bring it up to date......

I did the same as you Vic, printed them off and took them with me.
You can also print off by state if you wish, makes it a lot easier if you are only doing one or two states at a time
