Hi Guys, Finally made it to Echuca. Yes Myrtle is giving me the run around, played up since Gilgandra. Things I had already got fixed, I thought but till not right. Thank you everyone for your concern. Had no reception at all last night at Bundure, just north of Jerilderie.
Nothing has gone the way it should since I bought her so Yes, I will be looking around for a replacement while down here. Not sure what just yet. At my daughters, her hubby is away in Perth for work till next Tuesday. Won't go out to the lake till after the long weekend. There is quite a bit happening in Echuca. Sunday the Moama market and Monday the Street Bazaar in Echuca.
Great news!!! I said to daughter not long after arriving. I thought you might have some news for me when I arrived. The shocked look on her face. Yes!!! Only found out last Sunday and told no one yet. They are expecting their 2nd baby. Due July. How did I know that. A mothers intuition.

Marj is OK. Refuelling at Jerilderie this morning. She's not on-line at the moment. Don't know exactly what the problem is yet with Myrtle. Will find out more later.
Cheers,
Sheba.

I spent my money on the van without the conversion to get a low mileage vehicle. Realistically to get a low mileage converted Hiace that isn't too old, you are looking at $40,000 minimum and for not much more you can buy a motorhome and that is my quandary. On the other hand they are cheap to run by comparison with some other vehicles and I have thought about converting mine.

At least you made it there safely Marj..............sorry to hear things are not going right with Myrtle, how hard is it to get a mechanic that knows what they are doing today, with everything you have had done with her she should be purring.

Please stop blaming the mechanic every time, look I know they make mistakes but more often than not they do the best that circumstances permit. At the end of the day the vehicle is old, new engine and all so things are always going to go wrong. The older the vehicle the more they cost to maintain. I am also aware that there is some rip off mechanics and more likely so with the ladies but Marj does seem to have found one she has had faith in and seems to have been doing a fair sorta job.
cheers

I tend to be a little superstitious if a vehicle lets me down a couple of times, it's time to go.

thats kind of whats putting me off from a camper van, 1 the age of most on the market and 2 the k's some are so high i'd say they've been around the block more than once! I just hope Marj can enjoy her time out ..

Milo, just don't make the same mistake I did. Look for a late model, low mileage. Not the other way around. I was duped right from the beginning, not so much by mechanics except the first one and the car yard who sold her to me. The mechanics since have tried to make the best of a bad job. Fixed what was going wrong and for a while all is good, then something else crops up. It's either spend more and more money, or not and find a late model vehicle that will suit me better even if not a campervan. Will look for something that I can attach a rear tent to and still have a small car for reliability. Thats the plan anyway, lets hope it works out.
