Hi Denise, and welcome to the site - you are a game lady - with no camping experience - but you will get a lot of help from this site, but can I suggest you re-post this in the "Solo" sub forum on here - that is where most of the solo's post and read - there are heaps of people on the road all the time- I am sure someone will be in your vicinity.

We sure will Denise. I'm a solo nomad too, although I'm travelling with my sister and brother-in-law at the moment.
You just ask the questions and there'll be plenty of people willing to give advise and support.

Gday...
Welcome Denise. As others have said there are lots of people on this forum who are friendly, experienced, and offer good advice and support - oh yeah, and a couple of cheeky ones as well thankfully. You will quickly get the hang of it on the road.
Actually, I believe the majority of "Solos" read all the sub-forums and not just the Solo one. I think we discussed this issue a long time ago

You are probably right rockylizard - I read all that interests me, but do know some who only read one of the sub-forum's, for whatever reason. So having it posted it in "solos" could be a good idea, doncha reckon?????
Denise - every day on the road is a learning experience - feel free to ask lots of questions, as rocky says, you will get the hang of it, both the site and travelling.
Have you checked out the employment section on the home page of the site - sometimes some good little jobs there.

This forum is part of "The Grey Nomads" website as no doubt you've noticed. It is set up and operated by journalist/authors Cindy and Jeremy Gough and moderated by Cindy (aka "Webmaster")
The solos sub forum is a great place to go for issues specific to solo travelling, for more general posts and information this is the place. There is also a sub forum called "I digress" which is where to go to have a conversation on matters that are unrelated to travelling but may be of interest.
Check the other sub forums as well as there is a wealth of information there.
cheers,
Jim
