For anyone who's not already experienced, and even those who are, I'd recommend an article in the current (December 2012) issue of the magazine 'On The Road', in a sub-section called 'Off The Road'. Robert Pepper gives good, clear info about 4WD driving techniques, when to use 4WD, advice about recovering from skids, etc., and one excellent piece of advice: 'In fact, should you need to resort to advanced car control techniques, consider yourself having failed.'
It's the only mag we buy these days; there's always interesting info about equipment, camping spots, etc.

Gday...
I agree wholeheartedly. I begin looking for it about the middle of the 2nd week of each month - many of the smaller towns I visit don't seem to stock it - but with perseverence I always get me mag.
I have my Dec copy yesterday, but ain't taken the wrapper off it yet. Will be at a camp near Wagga Wagga later in the week - looking forward to spending an afternoon sitting in the shade and catching up. The 4X4 articles (and all the other articles) each month have been very good.
Cheers - John

I get that every month so I will have to remember to get it next time I venture away from Greens Lake. I wonder if there is a news agent here? I will have to go have a look.

Stanhope, newsagent for your mag then across to the bakery/cafe to see Chris and Dom to get coffee to read your mag over. Make sure you get the fruit and veg shop to stock up
