well i know that this may bring a few coments but here i go
after working all my life, after being busy and resting when i need to, as i only need a few days to regroup i find that i am struggleing when in the van for to long
my husband is a great man and gives me space but after about 5 weeks it seems that i get cabin fever and have had anough
we have been in the van for 6 weeks now and this happened the last time about the same time
i have to be fair to my hubby and try and find a balance so he goes fishing bless his heart
we dont have a house at the moment as we are buying one but cant move in untill dec and i know that is not helping as there is so much to do and i feel my hands are tied and want to get stuck into it
please be gentle with your replys as it is a bit hard for me at the moment so any helpfull advice will go a long way

Geez mate, I can fully relate to the way you are feeling.
Its really hard to make it all balance when you are used to living an entire different existence.
Will you be doing a continuous trip later or groups of smaller ones?
You may have to break the trips into sections at least until you assimilate?

Different strokes for different folks.
Easy solution. Instead of long caravan trips you need many short ones

I must admit I would love to travel full time,but I too like my little house on Magnetic island and the shed, plus all the other toys. I think that I do get tired of being on the road , and shorter trips, up the a couple of months suit me.But if I won lotto.............Bill

I understand where you're coming from and nothing wrong with feeling that way. I love to get away but like to come home too. I like to go home to get stuff I found a need for and to get rid of stuff I'm not using and get it out of my way. Always feel the same after a couple of weeks.
We're all individuals and there isn't a right or wrong way to feel about the lifestyle.

I love our long trips but as the trip is coming to a close I get very antsy and can't wait to get home. I could not go away for more than 4 months at a time, I just miss our family, friends and home. 4 months has been our longest and that is enough.
We give each other space, I read a lot and Baz loves his laptop and TV but you need to get away from the van and each other sometimes. I do like time on my own away from everyone.
You are probably getting excited about the new house and I can imagine all sorts of things are going through your mind as to what has to be done . I would be beside myself!! just think Dec is only a week away. Then you can get stuck into it.
Spoil yourself now and enjoy the rest as you will be very busy once you get the keys to the new house.
When you are settled into your new home you may feel like doing small trips (about 3 weeks or so). You can see a lot in 3 weeks.
There are no rules as to how long trips are, you do what is best for you and what you both enjoy
I wish you all the best in your new home and have a Very Merry Christmas in it.

One sugestion Margaret.. take yourself on brisk walks as often as you can when you feel frustrated. It uses up that extra energy and makes you fitter for all the work you will have ahead of you when you get back to your new home. I totally relate to that feeling, I'm much happier when busy.
