As there seems to be a lot of confusion out there about the new system this is how it works as I have a renewal in my hand for NSW.
You still receive the same renewal notice as per usual. Minus a sticker.
All relevent info is still displayed on your renewal notice.
YES, all current labels can be removed as of 1/1/2013. ( this info was included with renewal notice)
This applies to all light vehicles.
IN the case of buying a vehicle & no papers are available ALL relevent info on rego statis is available via their web site.

JC, when they stopped the stickers here in WA they gave us a 50% reduction in fee's
