I would love to take part in a GN musical Muster. Have been to many Folk, Country and
blues Music events over many years, I reckon we could have our own Grey Nomads Muster.
I have already met, and played music with, a number of GN at various campsites, so why not have a big meet next year.
Anyone interested in joining me to organise an event were we can strut our stuff before our stuffing falls out. One last Woodstock.....!

Great idea. I don't carry an instrument with me but would love to be part of the audience. Will watch how this develops

I could do a song and dance routine if you like but I can't guarantee how many people would be left when I finish. On second thought yes a can, NONE. I can't sing or dance. But it does sound like it could be a good night though.

An audience is very important, who else would give the performer the hope to carry on. You could ofcourse read a poem or two.

What a great idea. We have seen so many very talented people in our travels but as one has said already let's not restrict it to just singers and muscians, there are many people with talents that are many and varied. There will need the people to can do techno things, stage managers, etc. something like this needs multiple talents. This also needs an audience that can be enthusiastic to bring it all together. We will keep an eye on this as it comes together and give thoughts to how we can be involved.
Go for it

We stopped over at 4 post camp near Deneliquin Last year, they were holding a seniors muster, it was a great week of activities and every night there was music, maybe this might be of interest

I have done my 15yr stint in the pro music scene entertaining thousands of people over the years. In the peak period we done three nights a week under contract, on top of our day job & that rate soon burns you out.
I retired from it to enjoy some life style that we were missing out on, it must be ok because I have not returned back to those days.

Hi Terra and all,
I play Double Bass, but wouldn't have the space to carry it!!!. Sounds like a great idea though, I look forward to hearing more.

We could have a theme song that all attendees could learn for a mass singalong - or a booklet of songs - published on line of course. Then check Guiness book of records and see if there is any record we could break! (like the Ukelele muster tried recently)

They do a seniors music festival in Bundaberg each year. Not sure what its all about as it happened just after I got up there last year, but I did see it on the news. Everyone was in campers, motorhomes or caravans. Think it was held at the showgrounds. I do know from seeing the news it was the seniors doing the music, not bands brought in. Will check it out when I get back up there for next year.

Thanks to all for your comments and it seems that we may be able to pull a Muster together.
A think a venue would be the first step, any ideas. Maybe a Showground could be an easier option. I have only been on the road for the past 10 months mainly around northern NSW and central Queensland. So I am happy to be lead by well travelled GN's
Time of year, any thoughts
Once we decide on location, do you feel that we good get the local Lions Club involved.
Get that guitar out from under the bed and start practising.
Happy Travelling and the best form Christmas and the Nwe Year.

Vic and Beth .. thanks for the kind words !
Yes .. I too love singing like many of you. (not really a muso though) .. While travelling as a GN over the last few years, I've had the benefit to practice and enjoy singing with my own Karaoke system.
I think now however, that the time has come for me to sing together with others .. be it in harmony or simply with someone playing a few backing chords etc. (I can't play a guitar)
