Hi all, our daughter and son in law thought they'd have a quiet holiday in Tassie. Today they went to Port Arthur and then went to head off for Hobart, you can guess the rest, spending the night at a fire refuge at Nubeena, all safe but very worried parents.
Hope they are OK Sue & Steve, there is a thread on 'Solo's' about some GN friends over there as well.

Hi Sue and Steve, our daughter, and her family too had the same idea, nice quiet tenting holiday in Tassie. Luckily they are near Launceston .We had to get the maps out to check whereabouts of them in relation to the fires. Thank God they are safe. Same goes for your family.
Cheers

Have to feel sorry for the 80 odd families who have lost their Holmes and all their possessions as well just hope all nomads and their families who are in any area where there is wild fire are safe, please play safe and stay out of high fire risk areas

Hi all, thanks for your thoughts and hope all is well with your family and friends. They were evacuated by ferry to Hobart last night at about 10, had to leave the hire car at Nubeena but were relieved to be heading to a safer place. Our thoughts are with the people who have lost homes etc, there were some on the ferry and our daughter said it was horrible to hear what they had gone through.
