have you tried the Insurance Company that the actual building is insured through as the shed should be covered in that policy, providing it is at the same address.
You may may be able to take out a special effects policy for the contents of the shed.

We did this but it was difficult to arrange and more expensive. I suggest you consult a broker.

Talking of insurance - met a couple the other week here in Tassy, tey have a caravan and a twin cab with canopy. Within the first week or so of being over here, they camped at a National Park, and drove down to a beach not far away. They parked and walked over the dunes, gone about half hour they reckon - came back - and their 2kva generator and 40 litre Engel (fully stocked) had been stolen from the canopy area of their vehicle!!!!!!
Insurance wouldn't cover them, as the items hadn't been specified in their policy!!!!!! Put a sour note on their trip.!!! There are some low mongrels around aren't there????
So, if you have these items and keep them in your vehicle, make sure they are specified in your insurance policy!!!!

But if they aren't always there why do we have to pay insurance for the whole year on those items? Someone must have been watching them to know they were there! (and that they had gone from the vicinity.)

Yes - neilnruth - that is what the police said - when they were at the caravan, had a lead going into the back of the canopy - someone sees that, knows there is a fridge, and can see the genny on the ground - so just follow the car - and strike.

By the way, welcome to the forum before_the_box. Insurance policies are a pain. They seem to 'get you' whichever way you go. I hope it works out for you.
