This is the first time that I am aware of where a total fire Ban has been declared for the total of each eastern state including Tasmania, we will keep our fingers crossed for you all tomorrow especially Gerty and Milo, I am supposed to be on standby tomorrow but thinking it might be much smarter to turn off my mobile and pager and hide out at Westfield Penrith where it is safe and there are a couple of decent Coffee shops, but then again that would be letting the side down.
All Forum members we wish you safety tomorrow where ever you might be, and please please take notice of any advice or direction that you recieve from emergency personell.

Our area is in a catastrophic fire danger area for tomorrow, I've just contacted the local firies to ask where should we go? They answered promptly, (The local RSL club is considered safe) but I'm surprised such information isnt available on their web-site as it takes up their time answering people individually. To everybody in this situation tomorrow and whenever... very best wishes, and hope we are all here the next day!

Just remember it is very important if you feel that there is a possibility that your home is going to be under fire threat go to that place of safety, EARLY, don't leave it till the last moment, as then it may be too late. Have some woollen blankets in your car and if you do get trapped in the car while trying to get to a safe spot, try to get into a clear area stop the car close all windows and vents turn on lights get down on the floor and cover yourself with the blankets, do not drive thru smoke if you cannot see and don't leave the car until the fire has passed as you will not survive outside and a car does not normally catch fire instantly. STAY SAFE David

Shoalhaven area Colsa, around Nowra NSW. Also several adjoining areas. The nearby NP's tomorrow will be closed, not safe to camp there. Having been close to the Canberra bushfires, we will be leaving as soon as theres a "Watch and Act" warning, and yes David, got the blanket ready as well as a heap of stuff as suggested by the RFS. Theres only 1 road out of here, thats Princes Highway which is forested close to the road on both sides, if there really is a fire I'm sure it will be closed.

Thinking of you Gerty and Mr D. My Mum said she was glad they no longer live in Basin View where they would have been open to the danger. She only just coped last time they had to evacuate. I must go and check the news to see what the story is in our area. Take care all.

All National Parks in NSW have been closed , and everybody camping in them moved out .
The whole state is in emergency mode for the next few days as over 40 degrees is the widespread forecast .
43 for Sydney today . Up to 46 in some of the western areas .
We are in Albury , heading for Tamworth . Might stay put for a few days though . Not a lot of fun travelling
in 40+ heat .

We chose not to travel at this time of the year because of the heat I think we need to be aware of fire dangers in areas in which we travel and stay away from such areas , Member of this forum have from time to time placed some good link so we can be aware of problem area and would be in everyone interest to stay away from such areas. Camp fire it was reported one of the fires in Tasmania was the result of a camp fire , This time of the year we need to be aware of fire safety
There's a fire to the west of here threatening to come east toward the coastal villages... great relief! Just heard its under control. Those firies that worked all night are angels!
