I think I need to post this because I caught it. And it was not the biggest. This is the only photo of my fantastic fishing trip to Tapley Shoal. As a Victorian, I married a South Australian, and I have to point out that I out fished the South Australians, much to thier disgust. I need to point that out because there is a thing between us and them. Sort of like the yankees and confederates. I had a ball and caught fish that I could not have imagined being caught in Victoria. The biggest did not fit in the Esky. The esky was a metre esky, and a metre long snapper is a life time fish. All on 15lb braid with a 20lb leader.
I have to, admit that I did not keep any of the fish, could not because of my circumstance, but I have had emails from the people who had fantastic new years feasts of big snapper. I drooled at some of the pictures.
This is one more off my bucket list, the list completed to date is:
Coral Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Gummy Shark, 2kg + Black Bream, Barramundi, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout(not farmed), Red Bass, large mouthed nannygui, 10lb + dusky flathead, accidental bloody huge mullet that must have weighed 8lb, 6lb + australian salmon, 12kg stinking rotten european carp on 4lb line while trying to catch trout.
Next catch, never caught tommy ruff, love the smoked version, next catch is tommy ruff.
give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day , teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a life time,
or something like that..
I only catch colds or floaty things in the water, or myself most of the time!!

Thanks for all the praise and signs of jealousy, I must say I appreciate it. It helps when my Vic team loses against one of those SA sides!
May I give a plug for the charter company that did all the work getting me out there? They were great and at $250 for a nine hour charter, it is, believe it not, great value. The skipper of the boat even thanked me for making the charter look so good!
Can I give the name here or is it against the rules?

I can't see your being sent to the naughty corner for mentioning the name as your connection with them is only as a very satisfied customer. However I am but a humble member and have no more say in these matters than any other member.

What a beauty! I'm not a fisher-person but I love eating fish, particularly snapper!
My son is camping on Stradbroke Island at the moment and trying to catch fish. So far only a couple of very small whiting and ...forget what the other one was...hopeless. Way too small anyway.
