Can anyone recommend a good insurance company that will cover contents in excess of the usual $500?
I appreciate any help on the matter.
Thanks

I think most Insurance Companies will insure you without excess but it means a higher premium..

I have CIL coverage at the moment. What's the deal with other insurers which might be better?

We have gone from CIL to GIO as well $2000 contents and much cheaper than any of the others with similar cover exception being that if your van is badly damaged interstate CIL will return it to your home address and with GIO you have to collect it from repairer.

Thanks everyone. I hear APIA does $1500 contents but when living in the caravan full time this hardly covers any valuables. Will have to do some research. I'll let you all know how I go :)

Some house and content insurance also cover an amount while your away . Remember there is more to insurance than the yearly cost which many people find out only when making a claim . Remember the Queensland floods also had a friend you got a good deal on caravan insurance to find out didn't cover hail
