The National Parks have set up a new booking system at the Arakoon state recreational centre, ( Trail bay jail, south west rocks).
According to local paper they introduced the new system about last Oct, The story is that people who had bookings for the 2012/13 xmas period arrived to find that they had no sites booked. The new system required these people to re apply for their sites in oct as the old system was closed, the catch was NONE of them were notified of the new changes.
Many of these people have been regular visitors for up to 30 yrs, meeting up with family & friends. As compensation the parks offered them a free tour of the old jail, what a bloody insult.
On going meetings are still in place.

They can't do that ?? the goverment is only in process of introducing a Dictatorship, It has not been Implemented ?? [ yet ]
Also they should talk to the local newspaper to see if they're interested in following up the story. Bureaucrats don't like bad publicity.
This stuff up did not involve us, but many long term visiters have lost their sites.
This issue has been in the local paper a couple of times & would expect to see it again.
There has been a protest movement set to fight this, also the minister for enviroment,Robyn Parker has been notified & awaiting her response.
