It's on my to-do list.
Thanks for your input to this topic
Jim
PS: I agree with all the comments about caravan/RV manufacturers not installing the insulation. It's hardly a high cost item in terms of the initial cost of the insulation or the labour involved while the van/RV is being built. It would be a good selling feature for the marketers to promote.

Many of you may have followed the thread in techies on 12 volt fans fitted to fridges, which ended up being closed.
If you did then you know that I done the recomended installation as set by Waeco , to which I then posted that I had some very good results, available via PM/email to which I supplied to many members.
I am now recieving some very good feedback from people who done the same job with insulation & are now more than happy with the results. I think we can say that the failure by caravan/motor home builders to do this insulation under assembly to be a contributing factor to the ongoing problems that have plagued many people with poor fridge functions.
For many years we have seen vans with air vents removed, sun shades erected over fridge areas & so on. As many alloy clad vans the cladding is the last to be fitted, it would so easy for these builders to fit the insulation prior to cladding. I managed to do the job in an hour. As for costs, to do it during assy would be minimal on a unit worth thousands.
