Wondering if someone can tell me if the road is bitumen from Sandstone to Meekatharra? I know it is if you go via Mt Magnet but not sure if you take the direct route. I've been told all the rest from Kalgoorlie to Meekatharra is bitumen.

Howdy. I was curious as to where one town you mentioned was so i looked it up in goggle maps. I then converted the map to satellite image. Looks like dirt all the way to me. But whats the bet some here has done it and can tell you for sure.

Welcome to the forum robynjan... its over 30 years since we've been on that road and it was dirt then, cant help with up-to date info. You could try phoning a visitor centre in the area.
