Doesn't any-one use Nilodor any more ? Still works well as far as I know.
Cheers,
Sheba.

not too sure about eggs...but certainly works for 'other things' on carpet....
bicarb of soda generously sprinkled into the 'area' and teatree oil (50/50 with water if new carpet) applied...
some time later try and soak up using absorbant cloth...no rubbing, just gentle pressure...then, when dry, vacuum or sweep away

Bi-Carb soda is what I've used to get rid of most smells, never used on carpet though, perhaps with some vanilla essence as well? good luck.

Try bicarb soda and soda water (sprinkle bicarb soda , then wet with soda water then scrub) then wash out with clean warm water.
It works on milk.

These sites are more for the stains than smell but the smell comes from the stain area so it makes sense to treat that spot.
BTW: Be careful what is used on egg stains as it is a protein stain and some things cause a bad reaction to those sorts of stains.

Hey thanks guys, unfortunately it is in the well of one of the back seats can't get the carpet out, in saying that we have used a box of bi carb with nil result, to day I have sprayed it with straight white vinegar for the moment I can't smell anything but will wait and see to morrow, I am alergic to the smell of tee tree oil and the like and also to chemicals, if this doesn't work I know for a fact that Ozone treatment will do the trick, just have to take the car to the Gold Coast as my daughter is a mould and odour remediator, trying to fix it before I have to do a 400 k dirve.
