I had a thought this morning, I wonder if I could hook up a Anderson Plug to the wire on the above mentioned pump, use my 6B&S extention Cable plugged into the Anderson Plug on the back of the Prado.
So I soldered the wires into a Anderson Plug, hooked it all up and it worked like a charm. Now I don't have to worry about alligator clamps or the cig lighter plug that did't work anyway due to voltage drop.
I'm a happy camper.
I put a comment in Techies Corner as well.
edit...sorry not sure what whent wrong, I meant to put this in the hints section

I have done what Doug has done with the Anderson plug connection but have also fitted an Anderson plug to the aligator clip lead.

I have run an anderson plug to the side of my van which is hooked up to the caravan smart charger, so now with another long lead with anderson plugs on both ends I can charge my dual battery in the car when I have power I also have a smaller lead with alligator clips on one end so I can also charge the main car battery if needed I saw this on a van at Mareeba and works well Ken
