Does anyone know where I can buy GasBottle Travel Covers , have tried coverworld and every other web site to no avail !

Agree with neilnruth, just change them out at every other service station/supermarket. Also designed for overpressure, that is why they are date stamped! Otherwise, just buy a cheap spraycan!

I had mine made by Shade & Shelter in Blacktown. I have had many items from them and currently waiting on an awning protector and a folding vinyl protector for the 4 awning rails.
You will need a sheet of masonite or similiar to just cover the bottles( oval shape) measure the height and give both to Luke or Lance tell them Dick sent you.

I'm interested in this one too. I remove the bottles from the front of my van when not using it and I'd like to not need to do this.

swaped a gas bottle bunnings put it in the cradle and it was half inch smaller
in diamenter would not clamp tight took it back ,,with a pair of outside calipers
and found two more were undersize

Yeh it annoys me too, the difference in dimensions. You would think a 9kg or 4.5kg bottle would be the same dimension but oh no they have make them different don't they!
As far as covers, I don' cover mine as when I am not in the playground the Avan is under cover.

we have a cover for ours and what I did was to buy some thick tablecloth covering from spotlight which is bought off a roll by the metre and made ours ,it has been on the bottles for over 12 months now with no sign of damage ,didn,t cost much either.

Exactly, all different sizes & they dont fit into the holders properly.
Besides that the swaps are far mor expensive, as if gas isn't already expensive enough.
I will not use these swaps for the above reasons. Bottles are desighned to be outdoors & only good for ten yrs so why worry about covering them.

Had a caravan for many years and never covered them even when travelling. Is it really necessary? Is there any danger not having them covered? Just curious because we are heading up some rough roads soon and don't want any problems. Cheers

Try a canvas shop. There are always canvas stalls at our caravan show here in Adelaide and they sell them.

The gas bottles are smaller because they ARE smaller. We had to get a new one in Broken Hill (at a service station not Bunnings) and the 9kg bottle is now 8.5kg but costs the same. Hubby had to work hard to screw the holder in tighter then ended up added a small chock of wood to help.

Only reason to cover them is cosmetic, no other reason.

I have been using the swap & go ones from Bunnings .. they seem to have reduced the prices recently. Used to be round $27 but close to $20 now I think, which is about what t he local Camping shops charge for a refill. BBQ Galore used to be the cheapest but the local store closed down & now too far to drive.
But the bottles at Bunnings are almost all rated at class 4. Caravan bottles are supposed to be rated as class 2 I believe.
As well they are often out of date & I couldn't find any re- tested markings.
I go through the bin and select any class 4's that are inside the test by date. Size is not a problem with my clamps.
My old Jayco Westport came with a fibre glass cover over the A frame mounted bottles. Have fitted a padlock to mine.
A friend has a piece of string cut to the correct diameter for his clamps that he uses to select bottles.
