Yep, Me, Myself and I had a committee meeting and it was decided we all leave Greens Lake today, now I wasn't in favour of this but here I am back in Sth West Gippsland. Oh well, never mind, a great two weeks had by the three of us and the other GN's there.
All the hard work with the big 12v re-wire and Solar Panel was well worth all the sweat and back pain as I couldn't ask for a better result. All went better than I had hoped and the Generator never saw the light of day during the 2 weeks there. I have a couple of new little projects to do on the Avan now, I will blame me for that.
Few! was it hot though, I was in and out of the lake a few times during the day and again just before bed. A great 2 weeks and a few happy hours to go with it, well every night actually. No Pav's though, where ARE those kiwi's? :) I also met a few new GN's as well so bonus there.
Now for Lakes Entrance in East Gippsland for a week in Mid March then migrate north from April 2nd until all going well end of September'ish. Few! busy busy busy.

Sorry to hear you got outvoted Doug. I would have revolted. lol Good to see also everything working well in the van. I'm just about to start again to make sure everything works, starting with a new battery. Just waitig for the Childer shop to get in a Delkor Deep Cycle, they will fit it for me then I will get an Anderson plug fitted so I can use the portable solar panel. Then hopefully it will be fixed once and for all.

Can anyone tell me the situation regarding Green Lake if that is the one west of Shepparton. We mentioned a few nights we spent there before easter last year & friends of our from here in QLD said that they heard there was now a lock on the gate, is this correct?

No lock when I was there two weeks ago but there is also Aysons Reserve just down the road about 17kms also.
Just before Elmore turn to right if coming from greens lake and its about 4 or 5 kilometers on the left you cant miss it as it is a huge area and is alongside a river with shady trees if required and it is mainly all flat.
I would assume a few of the faithful will still be at Greens Lake

Dougwe, glad you enjoyed Greens Lake with all your fancy new 12v system. Well done. Now Lakes Entrance sounds good too. We're off in the other direction - Wellington - in a few weeks time. Can't wait.

Hi Doug, Where did you end up mounting your solar panel, you were thinking of mounting it on the tug at one stage. I'm always interested to know what people do & how it works out, with modifications.
Cheers Pete

Hi wasn me, I decided to go fully portable so I can move it around and up and down to follow the sun all day. I built a false floor in the back of the Prado and store the Solar Panel under it, it is only 3" high so doesn't effect the storage area at all, not only that the Panel is safe in it's own little home on wheels. I take it out when at home though.

good to hear you enjoyed yourselves @ greens lake, if you leave the other two at home next time you will also save some fuel with less weight.
