Garmin have a free mapping program called Basecamp,it's not a full GPS but it does go right down in scale to show Street names in Australia.

I am not too sure if you have to have a Garmin device to use the program.I have a Garmin GPS and it may use my maps from the PC. If it does and you can't use it my appologies. I don't know how to check that.

If the maps come with basecamp it's a smart little programme for free.

Thanks for that John, I have installed it and will play with it later, will come back here and advise how I go.
