G'day Yawl. Someone PM'd me recently about using the search facility to find info instead of starting a new topic. What a great idea! I searched for rent assistance for travellers and whammo, 3 threads popped up with stacks of useful info. Then I was tempted to type hot babes but thought better of it. Hehe. Seriously, we tend to dismiss older posts as being irrelevant when in fact they can be quite valuable. So here's the tip, fellow newbies, if you wanna know something, use search.
Actually, now that I've thought more about it.... maybe I should type hot babes just to see what happens.

I got 5 posts when I searched for "hot babes"...just hot water and cute babies!
I reckon that you are correct that using the search function can quickly give you an answer, however if everyone did that instead of asking a question, this forum would be a very small and uninteresting forum with no differences of opinion and no argy bargy. New members can also give a different slant on things which would be denied by just using the search engine and an example would be the search for rent assistance where the advice from the search engine may be out of date.
So I reckon you use the search engine first and follow it up with a post so you can sort out the contradictions. Regards

Hako, coud not agree in what you said regarding. ( SERCH ) it is ok in it's place ,but so much changes so quick now, nothing like up todate info. The other thing is this forum and any other's for that matter would become stale and repetitve. New members to any forum, club or organization brings a new demention also.
Regards Herbi.

Sounds good, Denis. Use search and if you don't find what you're looking for, start a new topic. And I agree about keeping the forums current and alive - no need to worry about that tho cos there's always something new happening.

The best way is to use the search button for the info you want, when you find the appropriate thread you can make your own comment on the end of it. This brings it to the front of that particular topic again eg Techies Corner or such like. That way it keeps them rolling around and renews the interest.
