Have any of our GNs been affected by the last bout of floods?

Now that's weird....I have hit the 'Start a new topic' button and found part of one of my old posts staring back at me! Anyone else having problems again?
Now back to the question of my post. As the floods keep happening, I was wondering if any of our dear GN friends have been affected by floods, wind or weather? We have just been up in Newcastle and the rain was horrific. Then as we came further south, we saw the devastation of the south coast. Then we found our own backyard had had it's 'minor flood'. We have a creek cutting our block in half. Normally it is dry but when it pours in a short period of time, the water from further up the hill makes the creek flow. Apparently it was a good one again - but, once again, we missed it. No damage to the house, a few things washed away and not found, and lots of humidity and green grass.
While our 'flood' wasn't too bad, it made me wonder how everyone else is going.

Floods and wind damage up and down the Mid North Coast of NSW but here in Taree it's been okay. Wet and a bit windy sometimes but otherwise no worries. Including my old camper. Dryzabone inside.

Yep!
Here in Tweed Valley, far Nth NSW, we've had well over a metre of rain so far this year (about 500mm in one day, in fact).
This = three times landlocked by floods, many trees down courtesy of the major winds (some on the access track/roads), a summer crop gone to waste right at harvest time, a house-for-sale that grows mould by the day, a 'yard' with a maintenance regime that'd do most people's head in; and mozzies, leeches, sour clay soil, no solar power etc etc.
BUT, we are safe and well, the 'countryside' (esp the watercourses) is looking very healthy, the house is standing and still our castle
and, truth be known, I am not in a position to complain at all..... (I just wish we were out of this and on the road etc )

Yes .. I know what you're saying .. I left Tweed Heads this morning after a wet and wild 10 days .. It was good to get back on the road again !

Speaking of which, how many GNs out there are in the habit of checking the weather forecasts a week or so ahead and planning their stops accordingly?

Yes I often check the Elders Weather a week in advance, then I can make plans accordingly. Unless I'm already on the road, then I have to make the best of it.

This reminds me of the time we were packing to go tent-camping in the mountains and waterfalls area around Dorrigo NSW. We planned to leave on the Monday morning, but on the Sunday afternoon I found Dorrigo was forecast to receive 4 inches of rain in the next few days!
So we went to Lake Mungo, had a lovely time, warm and dry for the whole trip (far west NSW)
Heres my usual source of weather forecasts, you can type in any town and get a forecast for it.
