Hi All, We have a 2008 18' Supreme Spirit with which we are extremely pleased, except for one niggling problem. When towing in moderate/heavy rain water gets into the boot and the front window. The water through the window ends up on the shelf above the bed and with a bit of preplanning we usually cover that area with a towel. Normally it is only nusiance value but on 24/2 travelling from Hervey Bay to Brisbane it literally p****d down for the whole 4 hr trip and consequently more than the usual amount was found. Any suggestions from that vast pool of knowledge and experience out there in caravan land?? Thanking you in anticipation. Hurls

We'd be taking it to a repairman quick. We have seen some nasty woodrot and electrical problems from leaking windows. Are your electricals in the front? Even a little leak can be causing a lot of problems.

Try a search,Someone posted a reply to this question a while ago and showed photos of his solution which involved a strip of rubber placed over the front.
It works I'm told so should be worth a look.

I'd be moving your boots to a dryer spot.. and don't forget to check for spiders before putting them on..

HURLS you can get front covers made for the front of the van fix both leaks
i have supreme tunnel boot window was leaking last year near caliope
all i could do then was to silastic the whole window permanently closed
never opened it before lots of vans now are built without front windows
happy travels RAY

Got a leak in thru the front window of my old Jayco Westport. Caused by not latching one side of the window. If it is an occasional thing I would put a smear of vaseline around the 'rubber' seal & see how that goes. Might collect a bit of dust though.

Many water leaks in vans /cars etc will happen when travelling but not leak when stopped. This is caused by the wind pressure on the seals causing the to compress flatter than normal.
I have searched for many leaks in cars during time in the trade, you can hose it all day with no leak, drive down the road in the rain & it leaks so can be hard to locate.
I run a full canvas blind down the front of the van, not that I had any water leak but this prevents it if you do & also protects the entire front of van from bugs/road grime & stone damage. Serves as a front awning when stopped.

Hi
I have solved the leaking front window / front boot problem.
My new Lotus Freelander will be built without a front window or front boot.
My last three vans, including a Baroma,Roma and Regal have all leaked through the front window and front boot.
Cheers

Hi All,
Thank you for your ideas, plenty to work on when we get back to Hervey Bay. Currently at Evans Head NSW and it has just stopped raining for the first time in two days. Van nice and dry as we only have the problem when moving.
Thanks again,
Cheers
