When I was in the army, back in the 70s, the tanks, centurions and m113 APCS had rubber inserts in the tracks, so could be driven short distances on bitumen.Wouldn,t it good on the beach!

I saw this on the web and thought you might like a look at the new Caratank. Its a cross between an armoured vehicle and a caravan , and goes ANYWHERE! You will never get bogged, and fences , trees and backpackers won,t stop ypu. It does 3 gallons to the mile, so it pays to keep close to a service station. Availiable online now........
Hope it's got a strong roof Bill to stack all those 44 gallon drums of fuel to cross the desert in......tow a fuel trailer maybe ???

For one thing, you don,t need a bullbar as the glassis plate(the front of the tank) is 3 inches thick. The roos are scared! Bill

If I were a Wombat I'd be scared too (especially "our" Wombat!)

Did anyone ever see Lost In Space in the 70's? That vehicle is a copy of the one they had on that show that they explored the planats with. They called it the chariot.

But could this thing go on the bitumen with those treads Bill? Not that I'm really taking it seriously.
I loved Lost in space too. That sniveling Dr Smith was always conning Will Robinson. And those lusty looks between Judy and whatsisname...

I recently heard about a wedding in which they used ex army vehicles. It was being held in a gorge which was really rough to get down to. The guests were taken down in an army truck..don't know what they're called..a people carrier?...not sure what the bride and bridesmaids arrived in, but the groom and groomsmen arrived in a tank!
Apparently the brides father was a collector.

I think Major West was the one smitten with Judy.
I believe I can thank Lost In Space with StarTrek for sparking in me a lifelong love of Scifi
