Despite your political alligences , you have to admit that today is an interesting play.
Anyone who plays chess must find this a good game.
Your call for "no politics here" reduces the audience enjoyment.

I hate any forum that jumps on the political bandwagon... Takes away from the core of the forum and brings out the worst waffle in people i've ever seen. So many arm chair experts.
Its all so out of touch and media blown out.... I dont even listen to the rubbish.
There are 100Km winds in Vic, fires that have broken containment lines, houses under threat..... I could care less about some school boys and girls having a scrap.

In regard to the Apology, who forced the young girls to give their babies up? Was it the Government or the girls parents? Most parents didn't want to be shamed in front of their friends and neighbors. Shame on them. They the parents should be apologizing to their daughters and their grandchildren they gave away. Shame on them. They gave away theIr own blood.

G'day Well it is on again and personnaly I think Julia Gillard is the right person to lead this country. Rudd is just a show pony. If you had listened to Julia speech re the forced adoption it was very moving, then to go to question time and had to sit down and listen Mr Negativity rant on with no vision for this country just his usual tirade re the prime minister, pathetic. Julia got up and spent 10 minutes out lining the achievments of this government and her visions for Australia future.
Abousolutly put Abbot in his place and his head between his knees.
Go Julia

So, Bill, do you think that your ability to travel, to live on the pension, to fish freely, the watch the rivers run, to travel on good roads, to watch your children and grandchildren grow and be educated, to access mobile phone, broadband etc ......all of these things............ are not political?
Crazy if you don't.

With all the hullabaloo happening today we missed the most important part.
The apology to the young unwed mothers of the 1960/70's who were forced to give up their babies to adoption agencies.
So much more important than political grumblings.

I am closing his thread down now. As some of you have mentioned, we have a no-politics, no-religion rule on this forum. Although we may wend here and there on occasions, we are primarily a feelgood forum for people interested in the grey nomad lifestyle. Experience has taught us that political and religious discussions can end fairly negatively ... and we would rather avoid that here. Apologies to any newcomers who may not have been aware of the rules here. I have been promising for some time to put up a list of forum guidelines so we all know what’s what but I have yet to get around to that ... so apologies. I will now make that a top priority and put something up the next couple of days. Thanks everybody.
