I came across this great article on https://www.facebook.com/FreeCampingAustralia7 and thought I'd share. Most of us well travelled campers would know these things, but the newbies may not.
And of course, a lot of it is just plain old common sense.
need the fridge to keep beer cold, maybe missus could grab that.

I think it all comes down to common sense. Get educated, be aware. So many people after a disaster will say "but I didn't know...."
I agree, BG, touring Victoria in the heat of summer has proved extremely dangerous! I used to think of it as a safe place to hise from the heat.

Some good information contained within those sites. An I believe you are never too late too learn. I've been thru numerous typhoons, one severe earthquake and a major volcanic eruption. Not in my MH but overseas. Still the lessons learnt don't necessarily mean one shoe fits all feet. It always pays to keep an open mind on what we would do in a disaster, especially for example, touring Victoria in the hot summer months..

I used to think Victoria never got hot, because Victorians..my rellies included..always complain about the Qld heat. They only come to Qld in Winter, which I can understand.
But now I've experienced a little of the heat in Victoria and realise it's not the temp in Qld that they can't hack, it's the humidity.
And I can't hack the dry heat! Not that I cope very very well with anything above 30 anyway.

Both Melbourne, and Adelaide regularly have Heatwaves much much higher than we get in Qld. Beth. That's including where I lived on Cape York, only 12 degrees south of the Equater.
