Hi to all our fellowGN's, we are about to set off on the big lap after having a months trial run with the new van. We are heading north for the winter and are keen to get inland rather than follow the coast. We have searched for info but there does not seem to be any current threads. We would be most grateful for information on roads, free camps and great places of interest. We have version 5 of the GN bible and thought there may be a lot of you out there heading in the same direction, who would not mind passing on some helpful tips. We are leaving from Noosaville on Wednesday 10th March. Thanks in anticipation, David & Adrienne.
NB: Every time I post something a little yellow tag appears on the post?. What am I doing wrong. Also I have trouble making the subject appear in bold type. Is it just an age thing!!!

You know a few years ago I flew to Cairns from Melbourne and we tracked along that route. I had a window seat and stared out the whole way wondering what it would be like to drive through those amazing geologies we passed over. Please keep a detailed diary of the trip and keep us all informed.
From what I could see the QLD leg looked mostly outback big sky country so plenty of free camps.
The only tip I can give you about Cairns is look out for crocodiles and Japanese tourists - neither are friendly.
As Della said, click on to the Get togethers thread, on the Index Page.
Wuruma Dam is about halfway between Eidsvold and Monto, on the Burnett Highway.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Thanks so much JC, we really appreciate you taking the time to point us in the right direction, however not sure what you mean about the get together at Lake Warumba. we would be grateful for a little more detail. David & Adrienne.
Use it as a start point and edit it to suit your requirements.
