We some times are our own worst enemy ,when it comes to free camping. This is why this is happening all over the country,People just prop and forget that other people may want to use that beaut spot for awhile also. The only way to stop this is to bring some kind of time limit in.There is a couple of Grey Nomads up this way who just move from the only two nice free camps we have around here from one to the other week in week out,and they are making it hard re keeping these two camping places open.I was talking to a counciler the other day as i had heard they were being monitored and he was saying it is all to do with fairness to other travellers. These two places i am talking about for travellers to stop over for 48 hrs not weeks and weeks.Kind of like owning a block land with out having to pay for it, with water front views to boot.

Hello all
Just noticed in local paper that they are looking at putting a 28 day limit at Ayssens reserve, and then moving you on.
It is to be voted on later this month

I suppose 28 day limit would be okay. Nothing worse than permanent setups at these campgrounds. Just my opinion. Alice

Yeh and they are thinking of a caretaker out at Greens just down the road. They have someone in mind too, no, it's not me. Mind you, I reckon I could live there though, na, Then I couldn't do what I'm doing now.

28 days is still a long time. Time will tell, but for me at the mo, 28 days is too long to be in any one spot. I want to see as much of Oz as I can before I have to roll up the tent. I figure a few days here and a few days there will be enough... with perhaps an occasional week somewhere. Maybe I'll change my mind once I'm on the road permanently but that's the plan for now.

Now I wonder who that would be - maybe there will be a time limit put on there soon also since there seem to be a few 'semi-permanents'. Mind you it would be easy to do 28 days at Greens and then go to Aysons then back again

Gary - once you get out on the road, you learn to slow down - everyone starts out rushing all over the place, then learn that time spend in one spot can be great - meet lots of people, find new places to go from them, and just chill!!!!!!!!

That would be a good idea, be a bit like Tocumwal where it works very well.
Do they really have someone in mind?

Yes Marj, from what I have been told when out there a couple of weeks ago. I don't think it's sorted yet so will keep the name quiet for the time being, Im sure we all will know when things have been finalised.
