You may find the answer by contacting the maker of your phone or on their website; Google your phone brand, model and the word "tethering" which is the term for linking phone as a modem.
Difficult to answer your query with no more information!

Go to Techies Corner there are a number of posts there about phones as modems just recently, also post your question there and also give the brand and model of your phone. Cheers David

On iPhone 3G, Personal Hotspot is referred to as Internet tethering. Just looked on google.

The wife needed to make her iphone a hotspot for her ipad so when we travel she can surf the web using her iphone with the ipad. Apparently you can only do that on the iphone4. It's all double dutch to me but youngest son who works for Telstra said she had to get the iphone4 to do this. So $429 later all is good. I got the old iphone3 which I had to unlock for free from Telstra and Apple which I now use on Amaysim. I still prefer just a flip phone with no gimmicks plus the iphones and all the newer touch screen gizmos are all too big. I really want a Dick Tracey wris****ch.
