Late this afternoon while I was doing some MH cleaning out, I just happened to be belting out, and singing along with some of my own tunes .. Then a little later I went outside to bring in my laundry and this guy (that was walking an injured dog) addressed me and said how much he had enjoyed my singing .. after some absorbing discussion he asked me over to their van and we sang a few tunes together .. It was obvious he was a natural singer and guitarist, but it still hadn't clicked with me who he was .. (I can be such a duffer some times..)
Thats how I came to meet Paul McCloud who is very well known as an Aussie singer and entertainer .. Needless to say we enjoyed some light-hearted banter .. Paul was impressed with my CD as they were all tunes he was familiar with and what had attracted him in the first place .. He now is the proud owner of my only CD .. " A few Oldies" and insists that I be present at next years Hartwood gathering ..
Making a bloody racket in your motorhome helps as well hehe. Nice way to meet a fellow muso, though.

So do we see you singing in the street at Tamworth at the next C & W festival Jon
I remember you and that other bloke Ivan singing together and playing your guitars at the "Lake", very pleasant listening indeed!

Thanks Pam .. fortunately I'm really happy with my life in general and I don't harbour plans to go professional at all ..
Have met some great singers while travelling and the opportunity to share some time with them is really what my life's about ..
so
Vic .. no .. you wont see me on the streets of Tamworth .. but I still enjoy the singing ..
I'll be trying to move away from the Karaoke scene to sing live and with other people ..
It will be more enjoyable for me to now share in vocals and start learning lyrics instead of reading them.
thanks for the support folks
Jon

Thats great Jon that the bookings are there again, last year there were many rumers that it maybe the last, hence the huge crowd.
However at the end of the show Paul did anounce that he was in for another five years so sounds promising.
Where did you run into them? as they live on the sunshine coast. Were they caravaning/motor home?
Cheers mate;
JC.

Hi Jim ..
I met them at the artesian pool here at Boomi but not realising who it was I was speaking to .. thats how he knew my name when he later spoke to me.
Yes .. they were slowly making their way home with their Caravan+Tug (and a car+trailer) after finishing at Hartwood and just needed a stopover for a few days .. They had their dog OSCAR with them who had a pin in his leg. The top end of the pin was sticking out too .. not a pretty sight. He said something about it happening at Hartwood .. think he may have driven over his leg when packing up, so the dog needed a rest too !
